Chelsea And Wrexham Stars Engage In A Heated Brawl Just Two Minutes Into Pre-Season Friendly

Levi Colwill,  Chelsea defender, and James McClean, a Wrexham forward, were separated by referees, teammates, and coaches as a brawl broke out just two minutes into Wednesday’s preseason friendly.

The incident looked to come out of nowhere, with Chelsea comfortably keeping possession in their own half. However, when Colwill transferred the ball to fellow defender Benoit Badiashile, McClean rushed in and was quickly confronted by the Chelsea star.

Colwill forcefully grabbed McClean’s shirt by the collar and the two began to grapple, refusing to let go until players and coaches intervened.

Neither player received any further penalty for the event, and the referee kept his cards in his pocket because the game was friendly. It was an unexpected start to Chelsea’s US tour, where they will face Celtic, Club America, Real Madrid, and Manchester City.
