Joao Felix has reportedly flown to London for his Chelsea medical ahead of a loan move from Atletico Madrid until the end of the season.
The Blues are believed to have reached a verbal agreement with Atletico to sign the 23-year-old on a temporary basis, and will pay a loan fee of around €11m (£9.7m) for his services as well as cover his £250,000-per-week wages.
There is no option to buy in the deal; rather, Felix will extend his contract with Atletico until 2027 before moving to Stamford Bridge.
According to Sky Sports News, Felix has flown to London for a medical before finalising his loan move to Chelsea.
The West Londoners appear to have beaten off competition from fellow Premier League clubs Arsenal and Manchester United, who were both heavily linked with a move for the Portugal international.
Felix’s move to Stamford Bridge is expected to be confirmed soon, and Sky Sports News chief reporter Kaveh Solhekol claims that the attacker could make his debut against Fulham on Thursday if he is registered in time.
Felix joined Atletico for a club-record £114m from Benfica three and a half years ago and was regarded as one of the world’s brightest prospects.

However, the attacker has fallen down the pecking order under head coach Diego Simeone and has started only seven La Liga games this season.
Felix last appeared for Atletico Madrid in their 1-0 La Liga loss to Barcelona on Sunday, coming on in the 73rd minute.
The Viseu-born attacker, who has five goals and three assists in all competitions this season, is looking for a new challenge and hopes to rediscover his form under Potter at Chelsea.
