In Chelsea’s 3-0 loss to Brighton one week ago, Madueke, 22, who has seven goals in 23 league games this season, suffered a hamstring injury.
According to Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca, “Noni probably will be out until the international break,” during a press conference on Friday.
Nicolas Jackson, Chelsea’s second-leading scorer with nine league goals, was already out due to a hamstring injury.
Chelsea’s next games are against Aston Villa on Saturday, Southampton and Leicester at home, and Arsenal away on March 16. The Blues host Tottenham on April 2 following the international break.
Next month, they will also play Copenhagen in a two-leg round of 16 match in the UEFA Conference League.
Maresca’s team is level with fifth position with Bournemouth on points, and they are in sixth place in the Premier League, reports Mail Online.
Despite having 70% of the possession, Chelsea, who had climbed as high as second this season, was unable to score against Brighton.
It’s a rough run right now. “We have to take care of that,” Maresca stated. “There are only thirteen games left. Our current goal is undoubtedly to place in the top four.
