Chelsea Discovers Europa Conference League Opponents As Blues Dealt A Tough Start

Chelsea will play Servette in the Europa Conference League play-off after the Swiss team lost their Europa League third qualifying round match against Braga on Thursday.

Servette entered the game after a 0-0 first-leg tie at Braga the previous week, but were unable to capitalize on home advantage, losing 2-1 at the Stade de Geneve. Amine El Ouzzani and Roberto Fernandez scored goals each side of halftime, which proved to be the difference. Read Also:

They will now face the Blues in the Conference League play-off round, with the first leg scheduled for Thursday, August 22 at Stamford Bridge. The second leg will take place a week later, on Thursday, August 29. This is the Blues’ first appearance in the competition since its creation three years ago. According to football London.

Chelsea’s confirmation of their two-legged tie against Servette means they will have a frantic start to the 2024/25 season, with five matches in the first two weeks. The Blues will face Manchester City in their Premier League opener on Sunday, followed by the first leg against Servette in west London four days later.

A trip to Wolves on Sunday, August 25, and a home game against Crystal Palace on Sunday, September 1 are scheduled ahead of the second leg trip to Servette. Following that, the Blues will have two weeks off for the season’s first international break.

Chelsea come into Sunday’s opening versus City after a poor pre-season. They only won one of their five friendlies in the United States before heading home to face Inter Milan last weekend. Despite a 1-1 tie with the Serie A champions, the Blues maintained their poor form.
