Chelsea’s home ground which is the Stamford Bridge is set to have the banner of Thiago Silva in the stands.
According to the Evening Standard, Chelsea supporters have reportedly paid for a banner which will display the portrait of Thiago Silva and it is set to be unfurled inside Stamford Bridge. One of Chelsea’s final two home games will see the banner being raised at the stadium.
This is in tribute to the 38-year-old for his amazing contributions for the west London club. The banner will sit in the Matthew Harding Stand. Mason Mount, Reece James, and Frank Lampard also have their banners raised in the stadium.
Chelsea play Nottingham Forest on Saturday and, after games on the road against both Manchester clubs, they face Newcastle at home on the last day of the season.
The only player to publicly criticize the club’s ownership was 38-year-old Silva after Chelsea were eliminated from the Champions League by Real Madrid last month.
Silva claimed that the club’s poor transfer technique has hampered them and caused tension in the locker room.
He asserts that the team has suffered as a result of “indecision” at the club’s top and has cautioned that a strategy shift is necessary to prevent further suffering the following campaign.

“I think the first step has been made, an incorrect step, but it has been made,” said Silva.
“We can’t be blaming the managers if we don’t take responsibility. It’s a hard period for the club, with a lot of indecision.
“Change of ownership, new players arriving – we had to increase the size of the changing room because it didn’t fit the size of the squad.”
