Chelsea In Negotiation To Sign Former Arsenal Target After Club Sanction Transfer

Chelsea are reportedly in talks to sign Juventus midfielder, Douglas Luiz.

Juve spent almost £40m to sign the Brazil international from Aston Villa last summer but are prepared to sell in just seven months since he arrived in Turin.

Luiz was a regular in the Villa team for five years – amassing over 200 appearances for the Midlands club – but has been battling for minutes at Juventus.

The 26-year-old was judged surplus to requirements during the January transfer window and has only started three league games under Juventus manager Thiago Motta.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport as reported by The Metro, Chelsea have begun negotiations with Juventus over a transfer in hopes of bringing Luiz back to the English top tier.

The Blues are trying to expand Enzo Maresca’s options after Chelsea lost the Premier League title battle due to a major setback during the festive period.

Juventus want to sell Luiz on a permanent basis, but Chelsea have shown interest in taking him on loan.

In order to make room for the new additions, the Old Lady are trying to offload a few players.

Chelsea defender, Renato Veiga and Lloyd Kelly of Newcastle United have emerged as January targets for the Italian powerhouses, who are currently fifth in Serie A.

Dusan Vlahovic, a Serbian striker, is another player Juventus are prepared to let go. With Chelsea and Arsenal both reportedly interested in a player who has scored 30 goals in the last season and a half.
