Premier League giants, Liverpool and Chelsea are reportedly in a tug-of-war to sign Southampton’s teenage sensation, Romeo Lavia.
Lavia, a prodigy of Southampton, is thought to be the target of another raid by the heavyweights from Stamford Bridge.
According to Football Insider via EPL Index, the foundation for a prospective summer agreement is already in place. The Saints appear to be demanding a substantial £45–50 million ransom for the 19–year–old wonderkid.
Not to be outdone, Liverpool have shown a strong desire to sign the Belgian international. The young talent, who played for Southampton in the 2022–23 season, felt the painful sting of being relegated. But his talent was undeniably on display.
The transfer game is still vital for Manchester City. The current Premier League champions are in a pickle because Lavia, who left the Etihad last summer, has a £40 million buy-back clause.
Although this clause won’t become effective until 2024. The Cityzens may need to act now rather than later to keep their competitors from snapping him up.
Lavia’s chances of playing for Chelsea have risen under the leadership of Mauricio Pochettino, who was recently named their manager.
Pochettino purportedly has a lot of respect for Lavia. Despite the fact that his career there hasn’t yet begun.

In the 2022–23 season, Lavia, who made his senior Belgium debut in March, played in 35 games across all competitions. Recording one goal and an assist. He played the most Premier League minutes this season than any other teenager this campaign.
Both Chelsea and Liverpool are reportedly preparing significant midfield changes as the summer window approaches. Romeo Lavia, the diamond of the Saints, appears to be the potential foundation of these overhauls.
