Chelsea has made an enquiry about Newcastle striker Alexander Isak.
Mail Sport believes that talks have taken place between the clubs, and the Blues have shown a desire to sign the Sweden international.
They are aware that any move would result in a club record cost exceeding the £115 million they spent for Moises Caicedo.

Isak scored 25 goals last season and is considered one of Europe’s hottest properties. His market value is at least double the £63 million Newcastle paid Real Sociedad in summer 2022.
Isak has 35 goals in two seasons at St James’ Park, and despite missing the first season due to injury, he established himself as one of the Premier League’s most dangerous strikers last season.
Eddie Howe wants to maintain stars like Isak and Bruno Guimaraes, but the club has previously stated that every player has a price in a world of Profit and Sustainability Rules.
While there has been rumors of Isak signing a new contract with Newcastle, we understand this is not yet the case.
Chelsea has made enquiries about a variety of forwards this summer in quest of the goalscorer to propel them to the next level.
They are close to signing Marc Guiu, an 18-year-old forward from Barcelona, for £5 million, but they also want a proven finisher for Enzo Maresca.
They have spoken to Lille about Canada international Jonathan David, Aston Villa about Jhon Duran, and Hoffenheim about Maximilian Beier.
Chelsea is still looking for a winger after missing out on Crystal Palace’s Michael Olise, who is joining Bayern Munich.
