Chelsea Make Lukaku Transfer Stance Clear Amid Multiple Offers From Clubs

Chelsea have reportedly stated that they will reject all loan offers for Romelu Lukaku as they look for a permanent transfer for the Belgian this summer.

The 31-year-old Belgium international will be returning to Stamford Bridge after his loan at Roma came to an end. Having spent a year at Inter Milan, it is his second season in a row away from the Blues.

In 2021, Chelsea paid a then-club record £97.5 million to acquire Lukaku. However, he did not live up to the hype and was permitted to leave after just 12 months. The west Londoners are looking for £37 million, as reported by the BBC, in order to get him and his £325,000 weekly wages off their books.

Although Lukaku is desired by both AC Milan and Napoli, their budgetary constraints prevent them from paying the asking price. Antonio Conte, who won Serie A with Lukaku at Inter is said to want him in his new club, Napoli.

According to The Mirror, Victor Osimhen, a striker worth over £100 million, was tipped for a swap deal with Lukaku. But Chelsea have no interest in signing the Nigerian.

Due to Lukaku’s inability to fulfill the role of a prolific frontman—who was a Thomas Tuchel signing—the Blues are in the market for one.

The 31-year-old scored frequently while playing for Everton, Manchester United, and Inter. He scored 30 goals in two of his three years at the San Siro. But in his one season at Chelsea, he managed just eight league goals.
