Chelsea ‘Negotiating’ With Ligue 1 Goal Machine Who ‘Really Likes Arsenal;’ Not Interested In PL Rivals

Chelsea are apparently in talks with Montpellier centre-forward Elye Wahi, who has previously been linked with a move to Arsenal.

Bournemouth are also interested in signing the Frenchman. But it appears he has no plans to join them this summer.

Wahi has recently been on a scoring spree in Ligue 1. In 33 league games for Montpellier last season, the 20-year-old scored 19 goals and provided six assists.

As a result, he has piqued the interest of several major European clubs. As previously said, Arsenal were linked with Wahi last month, whom the player ‘likes a lot’ – but no offer was ever made.

Chelsea could now make a move for the youngster’s signature.

L’Equipe reports that the Blues have been ‘talking with Montpellier over the last few days.’

Wahi is also being pursued by Bournemouth, Lazio, Union Berlin, and Eintracht Frankfurt, according to the source. As a result, there is no shortage of interest in the striker.

It is no secret that Mauricio Pochettino wants to strengthen his offensive options this summer. Chelsea scored 38 goals last season, which helped them finish 12th in the Premier League.

Chelsea appears to be losing two strikers this summer. Romelu Lukaku has been heavily linked with a permanent move to Inter Milan. In addition, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is expected to join a Saudi club.

This summer, the Blues have already signed two strikers, Christopher Nkunku and Nicolas Jackson. However, another quality forward acquisition would be welcome.

Wahi has a contract with Montpellier until 2025. As a result, they are not under any imminent pressure to sell him.

However, rumors say that a bid of €30 million (about £25.6 million) may be sufficient to win his services.
