Chelsea are reportedly ready to listen to offers forgoalkeeper Edouard Mendy as they search for a new number one.
When he joined from Rennes in the summer of 2020, the Senegal international emerged as the favorite to replace Kepa Arrizabalaga as the Blues’ first-choice shot-stopper.
Chelsea won the Champions League, Club World Cup, and UEFA Super Cup with Mendy in goal, but he hasn’t been seen much this season.
A fractured finger has limited the 31-year-old to just 11 games in all competitions, including one clean sheet in nine Premier League matches.
Even before undergoing surgery in January, Mendy’s spot was threatened by Kepa, who sent him to the bench for four Premier League games and the same number of Champions League games.
The Spaniard has been in goal for Chelsea’s previous 16 games in all competitions, although Mendy is back in training and hoping to return before the end of the season.
However, having lost his untouchable status, The Mirror believes that Mendy will be on the transfer list this summer, and Chelsea have told him that he is free to find a new club.

The Senegal international is under contract at Stamford Bridge for another two years, but the Blues are reportedly unable to lock him down to a new long-term contract due to a wage dispute.
Mendy has kept 49 clean sheets in 104 games for Chelsea over the last two and a half years, and the Blues have been linked with a number of potential replacements.
Everton’s Jordan Pickford and Porto’s Diogo Costa have both been linked with moves to Stamford Bridge, despite having recently signed new contracts with their respective teams.
