Chelsea ready to offload Giroud

Chelsea are ready to sell Olivier Giroud in January and have set an asking price of just £5million for the striker. The France international has managed just four Premier League appearances this term, only one of which came as a member of the starting XI, and has two further outings across all competitions.
Tammy Abraham is the first-choice striker under Blues boss Frank Lampard and Michy Batshuayi is also ahead of Giroud in the pecking order as he has featured seven times in the Premier League, although he has yet to start.
Giroud has been in fine form for France and managed two goals in as many games over the last international break. The World Cup winner is understood to be keen on a move in the winter window in order to ensure he is in Les Bleus squad for Euro 2020 and it seems as if Chelsea are open to offers.
It has been claimed the Stamford Bridge side will allow Giroud to depart for just £5million in January, although that may well be dependent on whether or not they are successful in their appeal against a transfer ban.
Chelsea were unable to sign new players over the summer and will have their appeal heard by the Court of Arbitration for Sport [CAS] this month. If they are successful, they will be able to bring in new faces in the mid-season window and it would seem as if Giroud will be sold.
The 33-year-old could remain in the Premier League as Crystal Palace have been linked in the past, while the former Arsenal and Montpellier man is likely to have options in his homeland as Marseille, Nice and Lyon are reportedly among his suitors.
Italian giants Inter Milan are on the hunt for a backup striker to Romelu Lukaku and Giroud is among their targets but he may want assurances of regular football given his desire to head to Euro 2020 with France.
MLS is also thought to be an option for the forward and Vancouver Whitecaps have reportedly been in talks with Chelsea.
