Chelsea have reportedly rejected a £30m bid for young defender, Levi Colwill after his impressive exploits with Brighton and Hove Albion.
Recent reports state that the young England ace will be favoured by Mauricio Pochettino who wants to boot out a mistake signing.
20-year-old Colwill has received high praise for his efforts while on loan at Brighton this season. Roberto De Zerbi, the manager of the Seagulls, has been open about his wish to work with the left-footed center-back once again next season.
The Italian recently said: “I hope he can play with us also next year, but it’s his decision and decision of Chelsea.
“I don’t know. We have to be ready to change some players but of course Levi is a top player for us.”
Brighton reportedly followed through on their interest and submitted a £30 million bid for Colwill, according to Sky Sports. However, Chelsea have ‘rejected outright’ the proposal.
Colwill is widely believed to be a potential England international. And the Blues have ‘no plans’ to move him, according to reports.
Colwill is indeed hailed by coaches and scouts as the best young left-footed English centre-back, Sky reported.
The Evening Standard stated he might actually replace Kalidou Koulibaly in Chelsea’s starting eleven next season.
Koulibaly was a £33 million acquisition from Napoli last summer. But the experienced Senegalese hasn’t been able to match his form from his 20s.

The Standard reports that Chelsea will make an effort to sell Koulibaly. But they are aware it will be challenging given his age (he turns 32 this month) and £200,000-per-week contract.
In either scenario, it seems Colwill may swiftly get into Pochettino’s starting eleven. Whether Koulibaly is sold or merely demoted to the bench.
