Chelsea have ruled out signing Sporting attacker Viktor Gyokeres in January.
According to reports in Portugal, Chelsea’s £73 million approach for Gyokeres was rejected, but the Blues have denied any interest in the 25-year-old.
Gyokeres has 20 goals in 24 games for Sporting this season after joining the club from Coventry for £20 million in the summer.

Chelsea has made acquiring a new forward a priority, but Gyokeres is not one of their objectives, as Sporting demands that his £87 million release clause be met in full.
The Blues have been linked with Napoli forward Victor Osimhen, although he is only available for the full £112 million release clause.
Other names linked with a move to Stamford Bridge include Brentford’s Ivan Toney and Brighton’s Evan Ferguson, Stuttgart’s Serhou Guirassy, Feyenoord’s Santiago Gimenez, and RB Leipzig’s Benjamin Sesko.
But Chelsea are treading cautiously in January, as they assess Armando Broja while Nicolas Jackson competes at the Africa Cup of Nations with Senegal.
Christopher Nkunku can add goals and hopes to return to face Middlesbrough in the second leg of their Carabao Cup semi-final next week.
Chelsea also need to ensure they stay within Premier League spending rules.
