Chelsea look set to loan out Michy Batshuayi when the transfer window reopens, according to Daily Mail.
Batshuayi has found first-team opportunities hard to come by at Stamford Bridge this season, with Blues manager Antonio Conte preferring to deploy Alvaro Morata and Eden Hazard as his regular starting frontmen.
After starting just two Premier League matches this term, Batshuayi played as an overage player in Chelsea’s youth team as they beat MK Dons 4-0 in the EFL Trophy on Wednesday evening.
His lack of top-level game time will cause concern for a player who has aspirations of representing Belgium at the 2018 World Cup in Russia.
Batshuayi is hoping that regular club football next year will help him earn a place in Roberto Martinez’s squad, according to The Sun, who also claim that Conte will target a replacement for the 24-year-old forward.
Conte conceded defeat in Chelsea’s Premier League title bid after Saturday’s 1-0 loss to West Ham at the London Stadium.
But the Blues are still competing for glory in the League Cup, FA Cup and the Champions League.
Batshuayi scored two of Chelsea’s 16 goals in the Champions League group phase.
He also contributed to their League Cup progression by netting a hat-trick in a 5-1 win over Nottingham Forest.
