Chelsea Set To Open Talks With Former Premier League Star

Chelsea are reportedly set to start talks with Napoli for Andre-Frank Zambo Anguissa ahead of the summer transfer window.

According to Area Napoli, Chelsea are seriously thinking about offering Anguissa a return to West London.

The Cameroon international was signed by Fulham from Marseille for £30 million in August 2018, however throughout his four years at Craven Cottage, he would only make 46 starts and 16 substitute appearances.

Before Napoli paid £12 million to acquire the now 29-year-old on a permanent basis, his reputation was preserved during loan stints at teams like Villarreal and the Italian team.

Anguissa has made 149 appearances since joining the Italian giants in 2021, with 11 goals and 18 assists. He is presently helping Napoli in their quest to win the Serie A title for the second time while he is there.

The report further claims that Giovanni Manna, the sporting director of Napoli, has visited London to discuss his future, raising the prospect of a summer transfer.

According to the source, Anguissa has already told Manna that he wants to look into a move during the upcoming transfer window, with Napoli willing to a sale of between €20 million (£17m) and €25 million (£21.26m).

At the end of the season, the Blues hope to win the Conference League trophy and place in the top five in the Premier League standings.
