Chelsea are reportedly set to sign Leeds United midfielder, Tyler Adama in a deal worth £20 million.
The 24-year-old has been a subject of interest from the Blues in this summer transfer window. And it seem they are getting closer to seal a deal for the USMNT player.
Chelsea are looking to sign a defensive midfielder in order to bolster their midfield ranks and have enough firepower to support Enzo Fernandez at the base of the midfield.
The west London club also has a keen interest in Brighton and Hove Albion midfielder, Moises Caicedo. Having seen two bids – £80 million the most recent – already rejected for the Ecuador international, it is expected the Blues will go with a third offer to prise him from the south coast club.
Transfer expert, Fabrizio Romano stated that Adams is not an alternative to Caicedo. As Chelsea want to sign another midfielder alongside the 21-year-old before the transfer window comes to an end.

Adams, 24, is said to have a relegation release clause in his contract that is currently in effect. And is apparently only worth about £20 million.

Adams only moved to Leeds last summer in a transfer from RB Leipzig that was thought to have cost the club roughly £20 million. Adams committed to Elland Road for five years, through the summer of 2027.
Chelsea are not the only club interested in the former Leipzig midfielder. Nottingham Forest and West Ham United have been linked with a move for the 24-year-old. With the latter club dreaming of a strong partnership for him and Southampton’s James Ward-Prowse.
