Chelsea Star In Talks To Return To Former Club

Chelsea forward, Joao Felix is reportedly in discussion over a possible return to Benfica in the summer transfer window.

According to Caught Offside, the 25-year-old is looking to leave Stamford Bridge in order to rejoin Benfica, where he first made his name.

Felix, 25, became the fourth most expensive player in history when he left his boyhood club to join Atletico Madrid in 2019 for £113 million.

However, after struggling in the Spanish city, the Portugal international spent some time on loan at Stamford Bridge before joining Chelsea permanently last summer.

However, during the January transfer window, he was sent on loan to AC Milan in Italy after failing to make a name for himself in Maresca’s team.

During his two stints with the Blues, the attacker has contributed two assists and 11 goals in 40 games overall.

According to the report, Chelsea are prepared to let the Portuguese leave SW6 this summer for a reported £30-35 million, and his agents are reportedly discussing a potential surprise comeback to Lisbon.

It is also said that Felix is drawing interest from Saudi Pro League clubs. However, it is unclear if the player would consent to such a move at this stage of his career.
