Chelsea midfielder, Carney Chukwuemeka underwent surgery after suffering a knee injury against West Ham United on Sunday.
According to ESPN, Chukwuemeka is expected to miss six weeks of action.
At the London Stadium, where the Blues lost to West Ham 3-1, Chukwuemeka scored the equalizer before being taken off at the break.
“Carney underwent surgery and will now begin his recovery,” Chelsea said in a statement.
“The 19-year-old will work with the club’s medical department on his rehabilitation at Cobham (Chelsea’s training ground).”
The Blues secured the England youth international from Aston Villa to a six-year contract in the January transfer window.
