John Duran has reportedly signed a new long-term contract with Aston Villa ending any speculation on his future away from the club.
Despite being strongly linked to a summer transfer to West Ham and Chelsea, according to The Independent, the 20-year-old striker ultimately stayed at Villa Park and has now committed to new terms through 2030.
He has established himself as Unai Emery’s go-to substitute, scoring game-winning goals against Everton, Leicester, and West Ham before leading the team to a historic Champions League triumph over Bayern Munich.
That was Duran’s sixth goal of the season as he continues to adapt to English football and thrive under Emery’s tutelage.
“He arrived here two years ago and he is young, his potential is huge,” the Aston Villa manager said of Duran after beating Bayern.
