Chelsea target Dortmund teenage star Bellingham in £100m swoop

Chelsea are interested in bringing in England international Jude Bellingham this summer in a mega-money deal from Borussia Dortmund, according to reports.

The 17-year-old midfielder has shone at Dortmund during his first season at the club after joining in a £25million deal from Birmingham, and has emerged as one of the most sought-after youngsters in Europe after his performances on the biggest stage.

And according to Eurosport, Chelsea are now plotting an eye-watering £100million summer move for the box-to-box midfielder and are the club most interested in his services.

The Blues are looking to evolve under Thomas Tuchel following a dramatic upturn in performances since he replaced Frank Lampard, and the club are still keen to bring in a midfielder.

Previous manager Lampard saw fellow England international Declan Rice as the missing piece of the jigsaw in midfield. However, there is reportedly now a growing feeling that Bellingham would be the better fit at Stamford Bridge.

Premier League rivals Liverpool are also claimed to be monitoring Bellingham’s developments from afar, but it is Chelsea with the greatest interest.

However, Chelsea will find it extremely tough to get their man with Bundesliga outfit Dortmund set to play hardball over their teenage sensation.

Dortmund will be desperate to keep hold of star players Erling Haaland and Jadon Sancho this summer amid heavy interest in their services, while they will not want to lose Bellingham either – with the young trio the key stars in the team.

Within months of watching Bellingham, Dortmund reportedly recognised that the English midfielder had the potential to grow into a £100m star and will be demanding a fee in that region – which would be a massive profit on the £25m they originally paid for him.

The report goes onto say that Bellingham would be happy to stay at Dortmund for the time being even if the club miss out on Champions League football come the end of the season.
