Chelsea Tipped To Sign £60M Arsenal Transfer Target

Former Premier League footballer, Robbie Mustoe expects Chelsea to outbid Arsenal and sign Brentford striker, Ivan Toney in the summer transfer window.

Prior to the January transfer window, Mikel Arteta’s side got strong suggestions to acquire the talismanic forward.

The Gunners were ultimately unable to finance a deal for the 27-year-old due to Financial Fair Play (FFP) limitations.

Toney is still a top target for Arteta, though, and the Gunners hope to add a striker to their squad during the summer transfer window.

Given that Gabriel Jesus and Eddie Nketiah haven’t exactly been Arsenal’s most productive players this season. The Emirates Stadium is being mentioned as a possible destination for Toney.

On the other hand, Robbie Mustoe believes the Englishman would be a valuable addition to Chelsea and believes the striker will move to Stamford Bridge.

According to CaughtOffside, Mustoe, in an interview with The 2 Robbies Podcast, gave his explanation for why he believes Toney will ultimately end up at Chelsea.

What Did Mustoe Say About The Prospects Of Toney Joining Chelsea?

I think Chelsea is the fit,” he said. “If it’s going to be this summer, he’s in the last year of his contract, so £60 million.

He added: “I think he is a Chelsea-type player for me. We’ve seen Diego Costa, Drogba, aggressive, maverick centre-forwards.”

In an attempt to bolster their offensive lines for the summer, Arsenal and Chelsea have been linked to moves for Toney and Napoli striker, Victor Osimhen.

It might be hard to lure a player like Toney to Stamford Bridge without European football, especially if Arsenal show more interest.

Toney can benefit from a stable environment at Arteta’s team, which has grown well and has a good chance of winning the league title soon.

The England international striker may not be drawn to Chelsea due to manager Mauricio Pochettino’s uncertain future and the team’s patchy play.
