Chelsea To Offer Kepa Arrizabalaga As Part Of Deal For Andre Onana?

Chelsea are allegedly willing to include Kepa Arrizabalaga as part of a deal to bring Inter Milan stopper Andre Onana to west London.

The futures of Chelsea’s goalkeepers have recently been a hot topic of discussion, with Edouard Mendy reportedly being made available for transfer.

That is due in part to the Senegal international sliding behind Arrizabalaga in the pecking order, with the Spaniard having produced possibly his most consistent run in a Blues shirt.

Nonetheless, with the £72m signing entering the final two years of his seven-year contract, all sides must decide what to do next.

While Arrizabalaga has previously stated that he is content with his life in West London, there has been ongoing speculation as to whether he will be replaced.

Chelsea are in the process of recruiting a new head coach, who is thought to be Mauricio Pochettino, and much will depend on the Argentine’s assessment upon his arrival at Stamford Bridge.

According to Gazzetta dello Sport, Chelsea are willing to use Arrizabalaga in any attempt to recruit Onana.

The Cameroon international has returned to Inter this season, making 33 appearances in all competitions and establishing himself as one of the top goalkeepers in Serie A.

During that time, Inter management are said to have had no intention of cashing in on the 27-year-old.

Chelsea’s hierarchy have supposedly been advised that Inter will seek £35.4m if they sell Arrizabalaga this summer, prompting Chelsea to consider incorporating Arrizabalaga in part-exchange.

Although Chelsea cannot expect to receive the same sum for Arrizabalaga, there should be no significant difference in valuations.

Chelsea and Inter officials are no strangers to holding transfer talks, with the most recent example being the back-and-forth over Romelu Lukaku.
