Chelsea To Sign Sancho Permanently Amid £5M Get-Out Clause

Chelsea are reportedly set to make Jadon Sancho loan transfer from Manchester United permanent despite a get-out clause existing in the deal to sign him.

According to Sky Sports, Chelsea would have to pay United £5 million in penalties if the London team wanted to avoid the £25 million commitment that was part of his current season-long loan agreement.

Due to the uncertainty surrounding Mykhailo Mudryk’s future, the Blues are anticipated to look for a replacement winger in the summer.

After testing positive for a prohibited drug in December, the FA temporarily suspended the Ukrainian.

With three assists in his first three Premier League games, Sancho had a strong start to his Chelsea loan.

The 24-year-old has only had one shot on goal since Boxing Day and has not contributed to a goal since January 4 due to a recent decline in form.

Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca was full of praise for Sancho in January, saying: “For me he’s doing very well.

“I am quite surprised with Jadon, because I knew Jadon already [from seeing him at his previous clubs] and I know what I expected from him, but in terms of being consistent, he’s doing very well.”

Sancho left Old Trafford following a falling out with former manager Erik ten Hag. He was bought by United for £73 million from Borussia Dortmund in the summer of 2021.
