Agent Jorge Mendes has told Chelsea that Real Madrid would be prepared to sell James Rodriguez for £65m.
Rodriguez also as interest from Arsenal and Paris Saint-Germain, but would prefer to play his trade in the Premier League according to the Evening Standard.
The Colombian had an underwhelming season last term for the Galacticos after a tough start under Rafael Benitez, before failing to find a place in Zinedine Zidane’s Champions League winning side.
The attacking midfielder isn’t a certain starter in the Frenchman’s attack and consistently plays second fiddle to Gareth Bale, Cristiano Ronaldo and Karim Benzema in Los Blancos’ attack.
With Alvaro Morata returning to the club, his place in the starting line-up looks further in doubt.
Furthermore, with Toni Kroos, Luka Modric and Casemiro striking up an understanding as a three in midfield – there’s no space for the former Porto and Monaco man in a deeper role.
Despite his struggles last season, only Modric (61) created more chances than Rodriguez (60) for Real Madrid in La Liga, so there is certainly still plenty of potential for the Colombian who shot to worldwide fame following his starring performance for Colombia at the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.
