Chelsea Told To Sign ‘The Next Alisson’ For £25m To Solve Goalkeeper Woes

Chelsea has been told the solution to its goalkeeping problems, despite continued concerns about the form of Robert Sanchez and Filip Jorgensen.

Sanchez has been reinstated as the Blues’ first-choice goalkeeper after being demoted last month due to a spate of blunders, only for understudy Jorgensen to make a costly mistake against Aston Villa while filling in.

Sanchez was also released due to poor form last season and replaced by Djordje Petrovic, who has since been loaned out to sister club Strasbourg, where he is receiving positive reviews.

Chelsea will welcome teenager Mike Penders to the club in the summer after agreeing a deal with Genk last year, and Marcus Bettinelli and Lucas Bergstrom are already in the first team.

However, former Blues star Emmanuel Petit believes that none of the soon-to-be six senior keepers are capable of resolving Enzo Maresca’s issues between the sticks, and that the solution lies with Lille’s Lucas Chevalier. Reported By Standard News.

Chevalier, 23, is now in his third season as Lille’s first-choice goalkeeper and is apparently getting admiring glances from both domestic and international fans.

Petit feels Chevalier is capable of taking on the role of Chelsea goalkeeper, comparing him to Liverpool’s Alisson Becker, who is widely regarded as the best goalkeeper in the world.
