Chelsea are reportedly ready to table a substantial offer for Barcelona winger, Raphinha in the summer transfer window.
The Blues’ €60 million bid for the Brazilian failed to materialize when they tried to sign him from Leeds United in 2022. With Barca subsequently hijacked the deal from their claws. This was revealed by the Catalan club’s sporting director, Deco, who was his agent as at then.
Deco added that the 27-year-old was genuinely desired by Chelsea owner Todd Boehly. Sport Witness claims that the American and his team may have another chance to sign him in the summer.
In recent weeks, the Brazil international has shown promise for the Blaugrana club. He scored two goals in Barca’s 3-2 victory over Paris Saint-Germain in their opening Champions League leg. In the second leg, he added a goal as well, but the Catalan side lost 4-1 and were eliminated.
With 32 games played this season, Raphinha has tallied nine goals and ten assists, earning the attention of multiple clubs. His form has pleased the Blaugrana, who will only consider selling him if they receive a ‘irrefutable offer.’
The report states Barcelona turned down a €60 million offer from an unidentified Premier League team and now decided not to sell the South American for less than €80 million.

Several English clubs are ‘desiring’ Raphinha. Chelsea have been mentioned, and Boehly is rumored to be interested.
The report only names Chelsea and Manchester United because those two teams are in search of players who can have a major effect. Given his prior Premier League playing experience, the Brazilian appears to be one of them.
