Chelsea Working On Finding Solution For 21-Year-Old After Transfer Collapse

Chelsea are reportedly eager to find a transfer solution for David Datro Fofana, who sees his move AEK Athens collapse.

According to transfer expert, Fabrizio Romano David Datro Fofana is currently in transfer limbo since his deal to AEK Athens fell through and the 2024 summer transfer window in Greece has come to an end.

The 21-year-old misfit is not in Enzo Maresca’s plans for the 2024–2025 season. So while he remains at Chelsea, the Blues are trying to find a way to address his presence.

When Fofana moved from Molde FK to Chelsea in January 2023, he experienced a difficult period.

The Ivorian forward brought a lot of anticipation to Stamford Bridge when he signed 18 months ago. With many commentators drawing comparisons between him and Didier Drogba. He has never had the chance to demonstrate his abilities, though.

The 21-year-old has made just four appearances for Chelsea so far, totaling just 113 minutes of playing time. He has seldom played for the West London side.

Fofana played on loan at Union Berlin and Burnley during the 2023–2024 season, but he was unable to establish himself there.

There have been conflicting rumors over the past few days that connect AEK Athens with Fofana. Early in September, the Greek team expressed interest in the youngster.

But negotiations between Chelsea and AEK Athens were never easy, and the West London team also declined a bid.

On Wednesday, it appeared that the two teams had finalized their deal for Fofana to leave on a loan-to-buy move.

The Ivory Coast international, 21, is still uncertain about his future as a result of the failed transfer, and Chelsea are currently trying to find a solution.
