Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho’s resolve to keep Ashley Young is set to be tested by Chinese Super League side Shandong Luneng.
The Far East club are preparing a £10million offer for the forward ahead of next week’s transfer deadline.
Shandong Luneng, who are managed by former Fulham chief Felix Magath, have been working on the deal since the turn of the year and are hopeful of completing a swoop before Tuesday.
Young is understood to be open to a move knowing his chances of regular football under Mourinho are limited.
The attacker has made just seven starts so far this season and has often played in an unusual role at right-back.
But Mourinho may be reluctant to lose Young, despite his lack of action, given United are chasing Champions League qualification – and remain in the FA Cup, EFL Cup and Europa League.
