After spending four seasons at Borussia Dortmund, the 24-year-old American midfielder and forward joined the Blues.
He scored 26 goals in 145 appearances for Chelsea and was awarded a Champions League medal in 2021.
However, he only scored one goal in 2022–23 after scoring 19 Premier League goals in his previous three seasons—none in 20 games after October 8. He made just two starts after the new year.
‘I haven’t gotten the opportunities I’ve wanted in recent years and haven’t reached the level that I want to be at, and this is a great opportunity for me to do that,’ Pulisic said during an online press conference.
‘Of course there are definitely times where I wish I could’ve gotten more of an opportunity and been that guy, but yeah, for whatever reason, that’s not the case.
‘And like I said, I’m just so excited for this new challenge and I’m definitely ready and up for it.’

The game before the Blues won the Champions League for the second time in club history, Pulisic scored against Real Madrid, giving him one of his finest Chelsea moments.
However, he has now added his name to a lengthy list of players who have departed Stamford Bridge after they finished 12th in the Premier League the previous season, their lowest position in nearly three decades.
