Paris Saint-Germain manager, Christophe Galtier has confirmed talismanic forward, Lionel Messi will be leaving the French club at the end of the season.
The 35-year-old has agreed to part ways with the club after two seasons, Sky Sports understands.
Messi, who left Barcelona in 2021 to join the French team, has been linked with a move to Saudi Arabia. While rumors of a return to the Nou Camp have gained steam in recent weeks in Spain.
Before PSG’s final match of the season against Clermont Foot on Saturday, Galtier has already made it clear that the six-time Ballon d’Or winner’s future lies outside of the Parc des Princes.
“I had the privilege of coaching the best player in the history of football,” Galtier said on Thursday. “This will be his last match at the Parc des Princes, and I hope that he will receive the warmest of welcomes.”
Messi has contributed to 21 goals and 20 assists for PSG this campaign across all competitions. But his relationship with supporters of the club has soured, as the Argentina captain was treated to jeers as the French outfit once again came short of winning the UEFA Champions League.
Messi had the chance to extend his initial two-year contract with PSG. Which was worth £25 million per year after taxes and bonuses, by an additional 12 months. But he chose not to do so.

“This year, he has been an important part of the team, always available. I don’t think any of the comments or criticisms are justified.
