Nigeria winger Samuel Chukwueze has stated that he feels no pressure playing for his Spanish La Liga side, Villarreal where he hias made an impressive start to the season.
The 19-year-old winger bagged his second Laliga goal of the season in Villarreal’s 2-1 win over Real Betis on Sunday – their first home win of the season.
Gerard Moreno scored Villarreal’s first goal in the 52nd minute before the youngNigeria international, Chukwueze doubled the lead two minutes later.
The goal was his third in five starts in all competitions for Villarreal so far this season.
But in the additional time of the second half, Giovani Lo Celso reduced the deficit with a stunning strike.
“It has been an impressive month for me,” Chukwueze was quoted on Football Espana on Monday.
“I did not expect to play so soon with the first team, but I do not feel pressure or particular significance, I am only thinking about working hard and continuing to improve.
“It is important to make sure the Coach retains his trust and confidence in me but it is exciting to be playing and doing things that are right.
Chukwueze made his international debut for the Super Eagles against Uganda in an international friendly at the Stephen Keshi Stadium in Asaba, Delta State.
The former Golden Eaglets and Flying Eagles star would also talked up his side’s chances of beating second-placed Barcelona in their next game at Camp Nou.
Barcelona have failed to win a game in their last two league games losing 4-3 to Real Betis and drawing 1-1 away within Atletico Madrid.
“Barcelona next week? It is a game that we can win and that is what we are focused on now.”
Villarreal moved up to 16th in the Spanish La Liga log with 14 points from 13 games.
