Bayern Munich star Kingsley Coman says he will never be prolific in front of goal but has vowed to become more selfish in the hope of getting more goals. The Frenchman is just glad to be playing on a regular basis after being dogged by injuries over the last couple of seasons, and he has managed to make 10 appearances for the Bavarians this season.
Despite getting games under his belt, he has only managed to find the back on one occasion and has chipped in with another two assists. Not the greatest stats for an attacking player.
However, the 23-year-old has had more luck for the France national side, scoring three goals in his last four appearances, and hopes to transfer that form to the Bayern side after the international break.
Coman intends to be more selfish in front of goal but says he will not sacrifice his natural game in an attempt to score more.
Speaking ahead of France’s final Euro 2020 qualifiers against Moldova and Albania, Coman has set a target for the rest of the season. “I don’t think I’ll ever be someone to score 30, 40 or 50 goals in a season,” he said. “This instinct to be a killer in front of goal, it’s not natural to me, even if I work for it. “I want to break my record of 12 goals in a season – to get more is my objective. I know that stats are very important but I don’t want to totally change my game and be in the box all the time. “I’m a winger, my target is first and foremost to create. The team must be homogenous and there has to be different types of players.”
