Chelsea manager Antonio Conte has admitted that it is only now that he is able to sleep properly.
The Italian has spoken in the past of how difficult he finds it to rest while worrying about the Blues’ fortunes, but 11 straight victories have seen him calm down in time for Christmas.
Chelsea are seven points clear at the top of the Premier League, although that could be cut to six if Liverpool beat Everton on Monday night.
‘Now I’m sleeping the right [amount],’ he said. ‘Now we have a good pressure. After 11 wins, we now have a positive pressure that we want to continue,’ said Conte.
He added: ‘We have nine clean sheets in this run.
‘It’s fantastic. Where there is a corner or throw-in or a free-kick, the opponent always has possibilities to score a goal. We have a bit to improve to be more clinical when we have this type of game. At Sunderland, only a great save from Thibaut allowed us to win.’
Chelsea are at home to Bournemouth and Stoke in the next two matches, and will hope to continue their brilliant winning streak going in to these encounters.
