Inter Milan head coach Antonio Conte could leave at the end of the season after becoming frustrated with club officials.
As reported by Sky Italia, Conte has become frustrated with the Inter hierarchy’s ‘soft’ management, while he also has concerns regarding the club’s activity in the transfer market.
If Conte does depart then he could be replaced by former Juventus manager Massimiliano Allegri.
Allegri hasn’t managed since his departure from Juventus last year.
Inter finished in second place in Serie A this season, one point behind champions Juventus.
Conte’s side are still involved in the Europa League – they will take on Getafe in Germany on Wednesday in the round of 16.
Speaking after Inter’s second placed finish in the league was confirmed, Conte criticised the club’s hierarchy and said that his work wasn’t recognised.
He told Sky Italia: ‘It has been a tough year on a personal level, very tough. I don’t think the players saw their work recognised, I don’t think I saw my work recognised and we all received very little protection from the club.
‘We have to grow and improve in all areas, including off the field, and a big club should protect its players more. We’ll discuss it all at the end of the season, I have to meet the president (Steven Zhang) and he’s in China right now.’
Conte has won 30 of his 50 matches in charge of Inter so far but it appears that his time at the club could be coming to an end.
