Antonio Conte has commented on Tammy Abraham‘s brilliant early-season form on loan at Bristol City, saying the striker will get a chance in the Chelsea first team next season if he is deserving of the opportunity.
Abraham’s efforts for the Robins since joining the English second tier side has been nothing short of exceptional with the 19-year-old already scoring eight goals in the Championship this campaign.
The forward also netted twice on his debut for the England Under-21s against Bosnia & Herzegovina in October and is considered one of the most in-form youngsters in the country.
However, Chelsea’s loan and youth policy has come under criticism in recent times with the Blues sending an extortionate number of talented youngsters away from the club on temporary deals only to never utilise them.
But Conte has said that while it’s too early to confirm whether Abraham will be in his first-team next year.
According to the Evening Standard, Conte said on Abraham’s first-team chances next season: “It’s too early to say. I think it’s important to look at the present and work.
“But this season in the squad there are already four young players of the Academy. I think it’s fantastic. If they deserve to play, they play.”
