Chelsea boss Antonio Conte believes Pedro, Branislav Ivanovic and Ola Aina are all capable of playing the wing-back role in his 3-4-3 formation.
The Italian reverted to the system are Chelsea were humiliated by Arsenal in a 3-0 defeat at the Emirates last month.
Since moving from a 4-3-3 system to a 3-4-3 formation, Chelsea have won four games on the bounce and are yet to concede a goal.
The system is heavily reliant upon its wing-backs to provide defensive cover and attacking impetus in equal measure and Conte has called upon Victor Moses and Marcos Alonso in wide areas.
However, after Sunday’s 2-0 win against Southampton, Conte revealed he also believes three other Chelsea players are capable of playing the role.
‘In this role, Pedro also can play, in the same way as Moses,’ revealed Conte after the 2-0 win.
‘Ivanovic or Aina can play a more defensive role as wing-back.’
