Chelsea manager Antonio Conte has revealed he gave his players three days off to recover both mentally and physically following a fixture pile-up.
The Blues secured 1-0 victories against West Brom, Sunderland and Crystal Palace in a hectic six-day period to maintain their winning streak ahead of a busy festive period.
Victory over Palace saw Chelsea maintain their six-point lead at the top of the Premier League.
“Yeah I gave three days off because I thought that my players deserved this after a really intense period,” Conte said.
“We played three games in only six days and I thought that the best way to recover was to have three days off.
“When you give three days off most important
thing is to recover.
“Not only with your body but with your head.”
