Conte taking double English lessons ahead of Chelsea arrival

Antonio Conte is taking double English lessons ahead of taking control at Chelsea in July, says former Juventus and Italy midfielder Angelo Di Livio.

The 46-year-old coach is all set to take charge at the Premier League side after guiding the Italian national side to the European Championships this summer.

The deal for Conte was done earlier this year with the manager being tasked with guiding the Blues back to the top of the English game, after a terrible season this past year.

And Di Livio, who played with Conte at Juventus and for the national team, has revealed his old teammate is intensely preparing for his new role with lessons in the native language.

And such is Conte’s dedication to his new club that the coach is taking double sessions to accelerate his knowledge of English.

Di Livio also believes that Conte leaves the Italian game with the best wishes of the country’s supporters, despite many having issues with the coach due to his Juventus links.

Speaking to the Mirror, Di Livio said: “He is having double sessions of English. And despite having problems with most supporters in Italy because of his Juventus allegiance, I am sure that Italians will want him to do well.

“In a similar fashion to what is happening now with Claudio Ranieri at Leicester.”

Conte will be taking over from Guus Hiddink at Stamford Bridge at the club, who guided the side to tenth in the top flight this year. The side had been close to the relegation zone when he took over in December.
