Antonio Conte has recommended Chelsea sign Miralem Pjanić and Radja Nainggolan as he prepares to take over at Stamford Bridge in the summer.
Conte is set to take over at Chelsea in the summer once his time in charge of the Italian national team has come to an end, and he’s set the Blues a target to hit in the transfer market by recommending two of Serie A’s finest midfield talents.
The Times are reporting that Conte has informed Chelsea to make Pjanic a summer target, whom the Blues have been following for the last five years – ever since Carlo Ancelotti was in charge.
The Bosnian talent has been sublime for AS Roma this season, scoring nine goals from midfield and assisting a further eight.
The Times also believe that Chelsea are keen to acquire a player that they have pursued in the past and still keep a watchful eye over, so it seems Conte’s recommendation was a good one.
Nainggolan is Pjanić’s teammate at the Stadio Olimpico so it would be difficult for the Blues to sign both players from Luciano Spalletti’s side, as they have intentions of challenging for the Serie title A next season.
The Blues are in need of fresh signings this summer, with an ageing squad showing its cracks throughout the current campaign, as Chelsea still sit in the bottom half of the Premier League table.
And Conte, who will take charge of Italy during the Euro 2016 tournament in France this summer, has made it clear to Chelsea that he can juggle both the national team and the Blues’ transfer plans this summer.
