Antonio Conte insists Chelsea haven’t secured the Premier League title just yet, but admits the Blues must continue to exploit their winning momentum.
Conte has steered Chelsea, who finished last season in the lowly position of 10th, to their current place atop the league standings with the Blues sitting nine points clear of nearest rivals Tottenham.
Such has been Chelsea’s form since losing to Arsenal 3-0 back in September that the west Londoners have only lost once since – a 2-0 defeat away to Tottenham – and dropped points in their 1-1 draw against Liverpool last week.
Despite Chelsea’s commanding lead at the top of the Premier League standings, Conte admits he isn’t confident that his side will go on to life the trophy in May though he recognises the Blues’ superb run of form in recent months.
When asked on the Premier League show, which will air fully on BBC Two tonight, whether he is confident of winning the league, Conte said: “No.
“Now we are on top of the table but, in this league, it’s very tough.
“For me, now, it’s very important to continue to push and exploit this momentum because if you send the right signal for us and not the other opponents it’ll be very important.”
