Courtois leads Europe for most clean sheets this season

There can be no doubt that Thibaut Courtois has been in great form for Chelsea this season.

The Belgian goalkeeper has been minding the net for one of Europe’s stingiest defences. Chelsea have conceded just 15 goals this season, but even more impressively, Courtois has kept the most clean sheets of any goalkeeper across Europe’s top five leagues with a whopping 12 shut-outs.

Courtois had a horrible time of things last season as injury hindered his progress. Furthermore, rumours swirled that he would leave Stamford Bridge but he seems to have found his best form again under Conte. The Italian coach knew the quality Courtois possessed and sought to build his team upon his defensive solidity.

It has worked out tremendously in the Blues favour. Not only are Chelsea top of the Premier League and seven points clear of second place Spurs, but they are playing solid and sensational football built upon a defence that is anchored around Courtois’ goalkeeping brilliance.
