Chelsea goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois admits Manchester United’s David De Gea has better reflexes than him.
The Belgium international was hailed as the best in the Premier League during Chelsea’s title success two seasons ago, but De Gea is now considered the division’s standout star with his sublime saves for United.
Appearing on Belgian television show La Tribune on Monday evening, Courtois took part in a quick-fire quiz where he was given a list of goalkeepers and was asked to pick the quality each were better at than him.
On Dea Gea, Courtois replied: ‘He has very good reflexes. On his line, he is one of the best. But I am also.’
On Liverpool’s Simon Mignolet, Courtois said: ‘One on one.’
And when asked about Petr Cech, the Chelsea No.1 replied: ‘I have a lot of respect for him. He’s the best guy I’ve met in football at all levels.
‘Upon my arrival in Chelsea, he always helped and advised.’
