A fantastic finish from Philippe Coutinho and Neymar‘s 50th international goal saw Brazil comfortably see off rivals Argentina in a pulsating World Cup Qualifier.
The contest between the two South American sides promised to entertain and it was actually the away side who looked more comfortable early on with Lucas Biglia testing Alisson from distance.
However a moment of pure gold from Coutinho put Brazil ahead with the Liverpool man driving home an inch-perfect effort from distance on 25 minutes.
Argentina would have felt aggrieved to go in at half-time 1-0 down but it was made worse just before the break. Gabriel Jesus broke the defence apart which allowed Neymar all the time he needed to coolly slot home his 50th goal in 74 Brazil appearances.
The away side looked uninterested in the contest in the second period and Brazil wasted efforts to kill the game off before Paulinho eventually netted his team’s third from inside the area.
Argentina’s chances of qualifying for the 2018 World Cup now look in serious jeopardy while Brazil cement their place at the top of the table.
