After being involved in a heavy collision with the goalkeeper in a match, Cristiano Ronaldo has been seen with a black eye in Portugal training.
The Manchester United player needed medical attention while representing Portugal in their Nations League match against the Czech Republic on Saturday.
The 37-year-old United player, who has been limited to cameo roles this season, collided with the opponent’s goalie, Tomas Vaclik. This was barely 13 minutes into the match, which resulted in a bleeding nose.
Ronaldo was pursuing a ball that had been played over the top of the defense and that Vaclik had come out to grab. The two then collided, with Vaclik’s arms striking him in the nose.

For a brief period, the game was suspended while Ronaldo received medical attention. Nevertheless, he was able to finish the game and contributed to the easy 4-0 victory.
Pictures of Ronaldo in training now, two days after the incident, have now surfaced on the internet. It shows the Portuguese forward with a puffed-up eye and a hefty wound on his nose.
Following the match, Ronaldo made no mention of the injury as he sent a message on social media.

Taking to his Instagram page, Ronaldo wrote: “Great game, important team win! We stay focused on our goal. Thanks to the Portuguese audience for the fantastic support.”
Ronaldo is expected to lead the line in their last Nations League group match against Spain on Tuesday. Portugal will advance to the next summer’s finals if they win.
