Crooks: Victor Moses is sticking two fingers up at Mourinho

Victor Moses is proving that Jose Mourinho was wrong not to give him a fair chance at Chelsea, according to Garth Crooks.

The Nigerian international arrived at Stamford Bridge from Wigan Athletic in the summer of 2012 as a Roberto Di Matteo signing and was still at the club when the Portuguese tactician returned for his second stint in charge a year later.

However, Moses was loaned out by Mourinho in all three campaigns in which he was at the club and Crooks believes the wing-back’s form for the Blues under current boss Antonio Conte proves that the ‘special one’ was in the wrong.

“It was a monumental victory for Chelsea on Saturday. Believe me, as a former Spurs player, I take no comfort in saying this, but Chelsea are starting to play like champions,” he said when explaining his BBC Team of the Weekend.

“It’s as though the same players who downed tools under ex-manager Jose Mourinho’s leadership are the same ones who appear to be sticking two fingers up to him now.

“One of those players is Victor Moses, who the Portuguese totally disregarded during his second spell at the club and who is playing out of his skin at the moment.”
