Crystal Palace are in advanced talks to land Jack Wilshere on loan after 22 clubs registered an interest in him, reports Daily Mail.
Wilshere has been inundated with offers from England and abroad over a loan move after the Gunners agreed to let him leave on a temporary basis.
But Palace look to have stolen a march on their rivals after Wilshere had talks with Palace manager Alan Pardew on Tuesday afternoon.
Wilshere will make a final decision on Wednesday ahead of the transfer deadline, but there is a growing confidence at Selhurst Park that a deal is close.
Italian duo Roma and Juventus have shown an interest, as have Premier League sides Bournemouth and Watford.
Pep Guardiola would jump at the chance to take Wilshere to Manchester City but Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger will not sanction a move to a top-four rival.
Arsenal would prefer to loan Wilshere to a foreign league where he would not face such rough treatment from defenders.
But the fact Wilshere has a young family in London is likely to prove a major factor in his final decision.
Palace would pay a loan fee and most of his £80,000-a-week wages, with Wilshere open to a six-month or season-long loan.
Meanwhile, Arsenal have completed a £17m deal for Deportivo La Coruna striker Lucas Perez and a £35m swoop for Valencia’s Germany defender Shkodran Mustafi.
But they are set to sell winger Serge Gnabry to Werder Bremen after he rejected a new deal.
And young defender Calum Chambers, 21, has sealed his season-long loan move to Middlesbrough.
