Chelsea are reportedly hoping to complete the signing of Molde forward David Datro Fofana in the coming days.
The Blues have struggled in the final third this season, scoring only 17 goals in 14 Premier League games in 2022-23.
Furthermore, Kai Havertz, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, and Armando Broja have managed only eight goals across all competitions, with Havertz scoring the most with four.
However, Broja has been ruled out for the remainder of the season after sustaining a severe knee injury in a friendly against Aston Villa earlier this month.
As a result, it became clear that Chelsea would need to look for a new attacker, especially as any deal for RB Leipzig’s Christopher Nkunku would have to wait until next summer.
It was alleged that Chelsea acted swiftly after Broja’s injury to try to reach a deal with Molde for Fofana.
According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, the transfer is currently on the verge of being finalized before the end of the year.
According to Romano, the Ivorian has arrived in London for a medical with Chelsea, which is set to take place on Thursday.
Romano adds that, barring any unforeseen issues, the move is “a done deal,” with all sides agreeing on a fee and personal terms.

Chelsea are understood to have agreed to pay €12m (£10.58m) for a player who has made a mark in Norway’s top flight and in European football.
Fofana, who turns 20 on the same day as his medical, has 24 goals and 10 assists in 65 games for Molde.
This season’s Europa Conference League saw four goals and one assist, with a further 15 strikes in the 2022 Eliteserien.
