David Luiz has taken to social media to pay tribute to Claudio Ranieri following his sacking as Leicester City manager.
The Italian was given his marching orders on Thursday night less than nine months after guiding Leicester City to an historic title triumph.
Ranieri won plenty of new admirers last season as he helped the Foxes secure an unprecedented Premier League title triumph.
The news of his sacking sent shockwaves through the world of football on Thursday and Friday.
And Chelsea defender Luiz was quick to pay tribute to Ranieri with his own post on social media on Friday.
Luiz posted the photo above on his personal Instagram account and wrote the caption: “The world saw the amazing job u did and the fantastic person you are ! Sad day for football! God bless u! #Topclass #gentleman #respect #ranieri”
Luiz and his Chelsea team-mates are currently preparing for their Premier League clash against Swansea City on Saturday afternoon.
Leicester, meanwhile, are getting ready to host Liverpool at the King Power Stadium on Monday night in the Premier League.
