Catalans Dragons have completed the deal to sign winger Tom Davies from Super League rivals Wigan Warriors. The 22-year-old was under contract at the DW Stadium until the end of the 2023 season but found himself way down the pecking order under coach Adrian Lam. Catalans offered him a shot at more first-team action and he will now link up with former team-mates Sam and Joel Tomkins, Lewis Tierney and Michael McIlorum at Stade Gilbert Brutus. Davies has put pen to paper on a two-year deal and he says he cannot wait for a new challenge. “I’m very excited about getting over to France and meeting up with all the boys, coaches and getting back into training,” he told reporters. “Catalans is a huge club with a massive future, and they’re making history with everything they do, and that’s something I’m honoured to be a part of. “I know how much Steve and the squad want to win trophies and that’s what really drew me to the club, knowing they had big ambitions. I’m looking forward to a big year in 2020 and helping the team in any way I can.”
